-Write 1 reason the photograph is an example of abstract photography.

-Write 1 reason the photograph illustrates pattern/repetition.

Example Critique of above photograph:

My group chose this photograph because the pattern created by circles has strong contrast leading your eyes around photograph. Additionally, the text is not readable, yet, it creates mystery forcing the viewer to search further for meaning in the composition.

This photograph is abstract due to the framing the object so only part of it is revealed.   The dots repeated create a pattern and implied lines from top to bottom and left to right. Also, with close observation of the left semi circle, you can see the line of dashes created by the fabric stitching.

A. Interpret: When I look at this photograph it makes wonder ….
If I had to guess as to why the photographer took this photo, it would have been to ..

B. Judge:  One improvement or recommendation is …

Part 3: Post blog to your website & include photomontage image you critiqued.

Example Blog #11:

In this photograph, Nicole captured an interesting perspective that forces the eye to examine the photo from top to bottom, following the lines of the windows and slidewalk.

When I look at this photograph it makes wonder if this is how the typical big city business man/woman feels as he/she is walking into work in the morning. If I had to guess as to why the photographer took this photo, it would have been to stress the confusion and monotony one person can feel by the repetition of the daily working life.

One improvement or recommendation is to add the drop shadow and stroke effect to each layer in order to separate the individual photographs. I would also be curious to see this photo in black and white which could help to even out some of the tones.
